Fashion Casting

Runway, lookbook and editorial casting

Brief our team Apply as talent

Fashion casting is measured in fit and in walk. A lookbook needs a body the sample was cut for; a show needs someone who can hold a line at pace under lights and turn without breaking rhythm. We cast for both, and we run the fittings that confirm it before anyone is confirmed for a date.

01 — Approach

Sample fit comes first

Designer samples are cut to a fixed measurement, and a face that suits the collection is no use if the garment has to be pinned out of shape to close. Every profile we shortlist carries current, self-declared measurements which we re-check at fitting rather than take on trust. Where a collection is cut to an unusual block, tell us at brief stage and the shortlist is built to that block instead of to a general one.

Walk, and holding a line

A runway booking is a live performance with no second take. We look for pace that can be matched across a line-up, a turn that lands on the mark, and the composure to absorb a late running order without visible correction. For talent without show experience we say so on the profile rather than let a first-timer be discovered at rehearsal.

Editorial is a different read

Editorial and campaign work rewards a face that changes across a roll — someone who gives a photographer range rather than one reliable angle. That is legible in moving footage and largely invisible in a static card, which is why talent portfolios here carry video as well as stills.

Questions

Fashion Casting — common questions

How far ahead should a show be briefed?

Earlier is better, and the binding constraint is usually fittings rather than casting. Sourcing and shortlisting move quickly; getting a full line-up through fittings and back again is what takes calendar time. Send the brief as soon as the sample block is fixed, even if the running order is not.

Can we see talent walk before confirming?

Yes. Shortlisted profiles carry moving footage, and for show work we arrange a walk call so the line-up is seen together rather than one at a time — pace only reads as a group.

Do you cast outside the major metros?

Yes. Talent registers from across India, and regional casting is a routine brief rather than an exception. Travel and stay are quoted with the shortlist so the cost of a non-local booking is visible before it is approved, not after.
