Traditional & Ethnic Casting

Festive, bridal and collection launches

Brief our team Apply as talent

Drape is a skill. A saree that is not carried well photographs as a saree that does not fit, and no amount of retouching recovers it. Festive and bridal casting is its own discipline with its own talent pool, and it is the brief Indian brands send most often.

How this discipline is cast

01 — Approach

Carrying drape and weight

Bridal and festive garments are heavy, structured and pinned, and they change how someone stands and moves. We cast for talent who can hold posture through a long set-up without the strain reading, and who can move in a lehenga without fighting it. Comfort in drape is asked about directly and confirmed at fitting.

Jewellery presence

Festive campaigns pair garments with substantial jewellery, and neck, ear and hand presentation becomes part of the casting rather than a styling detail. Where a collection leads on jewellery we shortlist against the pieces.

Regional casting, honestly briefed

Collections are frequently written for a particular market, and the look the campaign needs is a legitimate creative requirement. We will build a shortlist to a stated regional brief. What we will not do is treat colour as a quality grade, and a brief phrased that way will get a question back before it gets a shortlist.

Questions

Traditional & Ethnic Casting — common questions

Do you cast for regional markets?

Yes. Language, regional look and market are all legitimate shortlist criteria and we work to them. Send the market the collection is written for and the shortlist reflects it.

Can talent be cast for a specific drape?

Yes, and it is worth specifying. Saree, lehenga, sherwani and gown all sit differently and comfort in one does not imply comfort in another. Tell us the garment and we confirm it at fitting rather than on the day.

Do you handle store launches and live events?

Yes. Launch and in-store work is a hosting brief alongside a modelling one — presence with customers, stamina across an evening, and the composure to be photographed continuously. We cast for that combination.
