Film Casting

Featured and supporting talent for cinema

Brief our team Apply as talent

Film casting is scheduling as much as it is judgement. A featured role is a reading problem; a supporting board across a six-week shoot is an availability problem. We work both, and we keep the two from colliding on the call sheet.

Readings, not just profiles

For featured and supporting roles a profile narrows the field and a reading decides it. We arrange self-tapes against sides you supply, then callbacks in the room or on a call. What comes back to you is a set of reads with our notes on each, not an undifferentiated folder for you to work through.

Continuity across a schedule

A supporting player who appears in weeks one and five has to be free in both, and has to look the same in both. Availability is confirmed against the shooting schedule before anyone is offered, and continuity constraints — hair length, visible tattoos, weight changes — are flagged at shortlist rather than discovered in the edit.

Background that behaves

Crowd and background work fails on logistics rather than on casting. We size the call to the frame, brief wardrobe in advance, and manage the call so the assistant director is directing a scene rather than managing a waiting room.

Questions

Film Casting — common questions

Do you handle self-tapes?

Yes. We brief the sides, set the deadline, review what comes back and send you a cut with notes. Talent without a usable filming setup are given a specification to meet so a good read is not lost to a bad recording.

Can you cast in a specific language?

Yes. Language and dialect are shortlist criteria like any other, and we check them on a read rather than on a self-declaration. Say at brief stage whether you need fluency or only a convincing accent — they narrow the pool very differently.

How are child artists handled?

Only with guardian consent on record, and within the working-hours and schooling limits that apply. A guardian is present on set. Where a schedule cannot accommodate those limits we will say so before the role is cast rather than after.

Send the brief

Dates, budget band, usage and the look you are after. We come back with a shortlist and a quote rather than a folder of profiles.
